Bachelor Engineering in Computer Engineering

Overview

This program intends to dish out graduates that could be self-employed with their own as a consultant or contractor in the field of computer engineering, the graduated that can work in organizations, or IT professionals like system engineers or lecturers in tertiary institutions as well as researchers in different industries.

Furthermore, students must be able to perform the following functions upon graduation:

  1. Be conversant with Computer Engineering materials, technology and processes.
  2. demonstrating understanding of the appropriate Information and Communications Technology (ICT) associated with Engineering.
  3. Acquiring leadership and management techniques related to Computer Engineering for exercising original thought, professional judgment and taking responsibility for the direction of important tasks;
  4. Demonstrating innovation and entrepreneurship in Computer Engineering.
  5. Improving on indigenous technology to facilitate the development of the Computer Engineering sector in Nigeria.
  6. Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to computer engineering problems.
  7. Design and conduct computer engineering experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
  8. Design and maintain computer engineering systems, components, or processes.
  9. Function on multi-disciplinary teams to solve engineering problems relevant to computer engineering.
  10. Identify, formulate, and solve computer engineering problems.
  11. Understand professional and ethical responsibility of computer engineers.
  12. Communicate effectively.
  13. Understand the impact of computer engineering in society, environment and global economy.
  14. Recognize the need for, and be able to engage in, life-long learning.
  15. Acquire knowledge of contemporary issues.
  16. Use the techniques, skills, and modern computer engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
