The Directorate of Research, Innovations and Product Development (DRIPDEV) was established in July 2023, with the mandate to facilitate all research, innovation, product development and related activities in Thomas Adewumi University, Oko, Kwara State. The Directorate is responsible for the coordination of translational research and innovations that emerges from the members of the TAU community; from their research and development activities and other capital inventions. This directorate provides the framework and governance structure that is necessary for packaging inventions from the University community and its affiliates for commercial uptake. DRIPDEV is set for Global visibility through TAU scholarly outputs, innovations and new product development. The functions of the DRIPDEV include: developing and coordinating the TAU research agenda; promoting quality research in the University, managing the University's internal and external research funds, promoting publicity and feasibility of research activities in TAU, organizing regular trainings for the academic staff, identifying grant sourcing and funding opportunities, promoting multidisciplinary research collaborations, expanding TAU collaboration and partnerships with other institutions across the globe, coordinating and supporting publication of journals.

From the Desk of the Director
The Directorate is saddled with the responsibility to create and implement the University’s research and innovation agenda. Providing a conducive environment for nurturing ideas, innovations and product developments, thus creating values that society needs. We will continue seeking to create new value by improving our existing technologies, innovating new ones, and producing new products. We also seek out partnerships with research institutes, higher education of learning, and industries both in and out of Nigeria, that can serve as catalysts to achieving our goals. We have signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal University Lokoja, Oracle Academy, Lovely Professional University, India for staff and student exchange, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to host the Open Courseware (OCW) on our campus, University of Central Oklahoma, Ajeenkya DY Patil University amongst others. The Directorate catalyzes academic growth and societal progress, by fostering a vibrant research environment and promoting innovation. We position our university as a hub for groundbreaking discoveries and transformative solutions to global food insecurity, waste management, energy shortage, and poverty rate.
