Igbomina Association Pays Courtesy Visit To TAU

The Igbomina People’s Worldwide Association paid a courtesy visit to Thomas Adewumi University Community earlier today. The guests were recieved by the Vice-chancellor, Professor Francisca O. Oladipo and the management at the senate chamber, TAU, Oko, Kwara state.

The association was represented by its management, which include; the President, Elder G.Y Jimoh, the National Secretary, Chief Layi Ogundele, the chief treasurer, Fola Olawuyi, the Legal Advisers, Chief B. A Ogunsola San and Barrister Olawoye, amongst many others.

The President of the Igbomina association, Elder G.Y Jimoh, who spoke on behalf of its members, expressed their joy of having a tertiary institution like Thomas Adewumi university, domiciled on their soil. He said that the association equally takes pride in the founder of the private university, Dr. J.B.O Adewumi, being a prominent son of the soil. He mentioned that the association is ready to give her full support to the university, and they also look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca O. Oladipo, acknowledged their courtesy visit to the institution, citing that Thomas Adewumi University will continuously give its assistance to the good people of Igbomina especially, from the three local government areas in Kwara State (Irepodun, Ifelodun, and Isin).

She emphasized the founder’s love for the Igbomina community, and his effort of making sure they get up to a 7.5% tuition discount, and also personally shouldering about 5% tuition of every student from these areas.

Prof. Francisca added that the institution has gainfully employed and trained qualified people to fill specific roles in the TAU workforce and will not discontinue the beneficial relationship built with the Igbomina people. The Vice-Chancellor also implored the association, to spread the good news of Thomas Adewumi University to its indigenes both at home and abroad to play their part in ensuring the enrolment of students in the citadel of learning. This will help the university to keep growing, and in return, maintain a long-lasting relationship between the two parties, she said.

Others present at the events include Dr. Adunmo, Dr. Oduwaiye, Dr. Folaranmi, and some of the University staff.
The event rounded-off with a vote of thanks by Dr. A. A Ishola, a group photograph, and a tour around the University campus.
