TAU Academicians Join Others Across Africa At AFRID Network Official Launch

The formal launch of The African Research, Innovation and Development Network was held virtually, today, 26th September 2022. AFRID network aims to bring together several peer African institutions and researchers that are willing to work together, to generate a critical mass that could more effectively support development initiatives in the continent.
The launch introduced the different sub-groups within the network, that focus on different research areas. Some of these are Climate Change, digital education, and SDG goals.

The participants were guided through the membership registration process, and some of the benefits of being a part of the African Research, Innovation, and Development Network were highlighted.
Some of the African Universities leading in the aspect of research, listed for emulation during the launch, are; Pan African University, Algeria, Covenant University, University of Botswana, University of Yaounde 1, Addis Ababa University, University of Namibia, University of Cape Town, Chinhoyi University of Technology, in no particular order.

The event was attended by over four hundred participants. Other dignitaries present were Professor Peter Okebukola, Elizabeth Colucci, Naomi Darko, Nodumo Dhlamini, amongst many others.

The virtual launch was brought to an end by the Chairman of AFRID Network, His Excellency Professor Olusola Oyewole, Secretary-General, AAU.
