Earlier today, the Chancellor and Co-founder, together with the Vice-chancellor, held a virtual meeting with another prospective partner of Thomas Adewumi University. The team is made up of Dr. Niran Oyekale, the CEO of Commit Technology & Consult Limited, Dr. Jimisayo Awokola & Mr. Yemisi Olumuyiwa (members of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Innovation, LCCI).

Commit Technology & Consult Limited has been a convener of digital skills empowerment in Nigeria. They have partnered with TETFUND and other federal government parastatals to help implement the availability of digital skills into the Nigerian education system.
In their presentation to the management of Thomas Adewumi University, they pointed out the gap in the typical Nigerian education system and the skills needed to fit the new tech jobs available in our world today and over the next five years. Dr. Niran mentioned the need for us to prepare our students to be job ready and help alleviate poverty and unemployment. “There is a shortage in global talent,” he says.

The two parties agreed to work hand-in-hand to make these certified digital skills available at Thomas Adewumi University, which will be the first of its kind in Kwara State and the entire North-central. Dr. Jimisayo and his colleague presented the Chancellor with a courtesy gift and an official invitation to the Vice-chancellor, Professor Francisca Oladipo, as one of the keynote speakers at the Upcoming 8th Edition of the ICTEL Expo 2022, organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Innovation (LCCI).
