Thomas Adewumi University Celebrates 3 Years of Excellence with Anniversary Lectures

In a grand commemoration of its third year of academic excellence, Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) hosted a distinguished anniversary lecture at the University East Campus Auditorium. The event, graced by eminent personalities and academic luminaries, highlighted TAU’s remarkable journey and its commitment to shaping the future of higher education.

The ceremony commenced with Dr. Emmanuel Adeyemi, Head of the Department of Business Administration, who set the protocols and introduced the distinguished guests. In attendance were the Founder and Chancellor, Engr. Dr. Johnson Adewumi, Co-Founder Dr. Mrs. Gloria Adewumi, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Victor Olanrewaju, and other esteemed members of the Board of Trustees and Governing Council, including Emeritus Prof. Luke Edungbola and Prof. Olasehinde Williams. The occasion was also honored by the presence of His Royal Highness, Oba Victor Olawuyi, the Oloko of Oko Land, and his Olori Grace Olawuyi, along with the Guest lecturers of the day- Prof. H.O.B Oloyede, Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo and Summit University, Offa and Prof. Mahfouz Adedimeji, Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of TAU's KU8 twin- Ahman Pategi University, TAU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, Staff members, and Students.

Following the introductions, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Francisca Oladipo delivered a warm and inspiring welcome address. "It is with great pleasure and a profound sense of pride that I welcome you all to this important day; a day to commemorate a momentous occasion in the history of our beloved institution. The celebration of our University's third anniversary, which also doubles as the birthday of the Co-Founder," she stated. Prof. Francisca reflected on TAU's achievements, highlighting its national and international rankings, partnerships, programmes, faculties, and successful research grants. She acknowledged the vital role of the KU8- Consortium of Universities in Kwara State in TAU’s collective success and reaffirmed the University's commitment to academic excellence and societal impact.

The Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Victor Olanrewaju, then took the stage, reiterating the importance of the day. He welcomed the guest lecturers and emphasized the significance of learning from their wisdom. He praised the teamwork of the entire University community for achieving high rankings and encouraged everyone to strive for even greater heights.

Engr. Dr. Johnson Adewumi, the Founder and Chancellor, delivered a short address, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the University's success. He urged students to embrace change, leverage available resources, and excel in the knowledge-driven world. He extended special thanks to the Co-Founder, the Oloko of Oko, and the Pro-Chancellor for their foundational contributions to TAU.

The event featured thought-provoking lectures from the keynote speaker, Prof. H.O.B Oloyede, Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo, and Summit University, Offa, and the anniversary lecturer, Prof. Mahfouz A. Adedimeji, Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Ahman Pategi University. Prof. Oloyede addressed critical issues facing private universities and offered recommendations and reflections, while Prof. Adedimeji’s presentation, titled "Small Steps, Giant Strides," celebrated the University's progress and future potential.

Interludes featured a documentary showcasing TAU’s journey and student performances, adding a vibrant touch to the celebration. The Founder and Chancellor, along with the Pro-Chancellor, presented gifts to the guest speakers in appreciation of their contributions. Goodwill messages from Emeritus Prof. Luke Edungbola and Prof. Olasehinde Williams further enriched the event. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from His Royal Highness, Oba Victor Olawuyi.

As Thomas Adewumi University marks this significant milestone, the community looks forward to continued growth and success, upholding its mission to empower minds, transform lives, and contribute positively to society.
