In a historic moment for Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), the inauguration of the Research Ethics and Compliance Committee (TAUREC) unfolded today at the esteemed Senate Chambers. Vision and Mandate of Thomas Adewumi University

TAU stands at the forefront of academic excellence, committed to providing an environment conducive to the development of ideas and knowledge while nurturing a robust research culture among its academics and students. With a vision to uphold ethical standards and scientific integrity in all research endeavors, the institution has taken a decisive stride by establishing TAUREC.

Membership and Responsibilities

Comprising esteemed members representing diverse faculties, TAUREC is entrusted with formulating policy guidelines to ensure ethical and scientific standards in research across TAU. The committee's responsibilities encompass a wide array of tasks, including the preparation of policy guidelines, registration with relevant accrediting bodies, sensitization and guidance of researchers, ethical review of research protocols, monitoring of approved research projects, and organizing training on ethical issues in research among others. The following members are hereby constituted:

  1. Professor Emenike Irokanulo: Faculty of Basic Medical &Health Sciences/ Department of MLS - Chairman
  2. Dr. Adekemi Dahunsi: Director, DRIPDEV - Co-Chair
  3. Mrs. Mercy Leke: Faculty of Law - Secretary
  4. Mr. Emmanuel Akele: Faculty of Basic Medical &Health Sciences/ Department of MLS - Member
  5. Dr. Abiodun Ajibola: Faculty of Computing and Applied Sciences /Department of Chemistry - Member
  6. Mrs. Victoria Aina: Faculty of Nursing - Member
  7. Dr. Emmanuel Adeyemi: Faculty of Management & Social Sciences/Department of Bus. Administration - Member
  8. Engr. Lanre Ilesanmi: Faculty of Engineering - Member
  9. Dr. Samuel Farohunbi: Faculty of Computing and Applied Sciences /Department of Biochemistry - Member

Inauguration Ceremony

The Inauguration ceremony, presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca Oladipo, saw a gathering of esteemed individuals from various faculties and departments. Prof. Francisca emphasized the significance of the event in promoting fairness and professionalism in research, underscoring its pivotal role in advancing the University's academic mission.
