Thomas Adewumi University marked a historic milestone as it hosted its first-ever Ph.D. Luncheon series, an event aimed at celebrating the academic achievements of its newest DoctorX. The occasion, which marked a significant milestone in the University's history, brought together esteemed personalities, faculty members, and the latest additions to the prestigious doctoral team to honor academic excellence and research accomplishments.
Among the distinguished guests were the University Founder and Co-Founder, Engr. Dr &Dr. Mrs. Adewumi, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, the Ph.D. holders of the University, including the latest additions to the prestigious group, and special guests, Dr. and Dr. Mrs. Peters from Landmark University, and the distinguished guest speaker, Prof. Azubike Onuora-Oguno from the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin.
At the outset of the event, Prof. Francisca Oladipo extended a warm welcome to all attendees, expressing gratitude to the University's leadership for fostering an environment conducive to growth, and acknowledging the presence of the Founders, guest speaker, existing Ph.D. holders, and the newly minted Doctors. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of celebrating the achievements of the latest DoctorX, recognizing the dedication and hard work required to attain a Ph.D. Prof. Francisca also highlighted the university's pride in its scholars emphasizing the significance of every achievement within the University family. She further expressed appreciation to the University of Ilorin for its role in nurturing three out of the four newest Doctors.
The spotlight then shifted to the celebrated individuals: Dr. Adeyemi Emmanuel (Business Administration), Dr. Samuel Farohunbi (Biological Sciences), Dr. Ayeni Adewale (Physics with Electronics), and Dr. Dere Mustapha (Computer Science), were formally recognized for their remarkable accomplishments.
Following the welcome remarks, Prof. Azubike Onuora-Oguno, the H.O.D of the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law, University of Ilorin, delivered a compelling keynote address on "Building Resilient Research Leadership Skills among TAU Academics." Drawing from his Ph.D. journey, Prof. Onuora-Oguno shared insights on the importance of passion for one's work, seeking collaborations, distinguishing oneself, updating research work, prioritizing relationships with students, continuous learning, and mentorship in developing effective research leadership skills.
The Founder, Engr. Dr. Johnson Adewumi congratulated the newest DoctorX and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence. He emphasized the importance of seeking grants, ongoing personal development, and contributing positively to the institution.
