Thomas Adewumi University officially unveiled its state-of-the-art Aquaculture Centre, dedicated to the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Francisca Oladipo. The commission of the Professor Francisca Oladipo Centre for Aquaculture stands as a testament to the University's commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and sustainable development. The centre’s establishment is set to propel research, training, and technology transfer in the field of aquaculture, contributing to the region's food security and economic growth, focusing on raising a variety of fish species, including Tilapia, Catfish, and Salmon among others. 

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca, has been a pioneering force in the realms of education and research. Her remarkable contributions to academia, particularly in the areas of innovation and sustainability, have earned her this distinguished honor. Under her leadership, TAU has consistently sought to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The Aquaculture Centre features cutting-edge facilities, including research laboratories, hatcheries, and experimental ponds. This infrastructure will provide students, researchers, and industry professionals with the tools necessary to explore innovative approaches to aquaculture, aquaponics, and fisheries management.

During the commissioning, Prof. Francisca expressed her gratitude for the honor bestowed upon her and emphasized the vital role of education and research in addressing the challenges of food security and sustainable resource management.
