Thomas Adewumi University, known for its agricultural endeavors in farming, poultry, and cattle rearing, is further expanding its horizons with the introduction of Fishery featuring fingerlings. The University's latest venture aims to bolster self-sustainability while creating a new avenue for generating income for the Institution.

The University witnessed the official commissioning of its Fishery farm by the esteemed management team of Al-Hikmah University during their momentous visit to the campus. With a commitment to agricultural excellence and self-sufficiency, TAU unveiled its latest venture in fish farming. The addition of fingerlings to its agricultural portfolio showcases the university's dedication to exploring diverse avenues in farming practices. The fishery initiative aligns seamlessly with the University's existing farming, poultry, and cattle-rearing ventures. By diversifying its agricultural activities, Thomas Adewumi University aims to create a balanced and sustainable agricultural ecosystem within its campus.

The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Prof. Noah Yusuf, who took the honor of commissioning the 1,000 Fingerlings during his visit to the University. He commended Thomas Adewumi University for its visionary approach in setting up the Fishery farm, emphasizing the importance of collaborations between the two academic institutions, he further stated that such partnerships will foster knowledge sharing, accelerate research endeavors, and have a far-reaching impact on society.

The University's foray into Fishery is an additional strategic move towards becoming a self-sustaining Institution. With its diverse agricultural ventures, the university aims to reduce dependence on external funding while generating revenue that can be reinvested in academic programs and infrastructure development. During the unveiling ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, emphasized the university's commitment to ensuring high-quality fingerlings for fish pond farming. The University has partnered with reputable fish hatcheries and experts to ensure the procurement of healthy and genetically superior fingerlings, which are crucial for optimal fish growth and productivity.
