Preliminary IJMB Affiliation Visit Conducted at Thomas Adewumi University

Today May 10, 2023, Officials from the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) conducted a preliminary affiliation visit at Thomas Adewumi University, the purpose of the visit was to evaluate the University's readiness to establish an IJMB study centre on the Campus. 

During the opening meeting, the Visiting Team (Prof. A.O Oyewale the team leader, Prof. Balarebe Abdullahi, Prof. Haruna Aminu and  Dr. Yohana Meshach) engaged in fruitful discussions with the University's administration; The Registrar and other Principal Officers, The Deans of Faculties and The Coordinator of TAU IJMB center (Dr.Abiodun Ajibola). These discussions revolved around the University’s history, curriculum alignment, faculty expertise, student support services, and administrative processes. The IJMB representatives emphasized the need for high-quality teaching, dedicated academic counselling, and a supportive learning environment to ensure the success of the program.

Furthermore, The IJMB representatives conducted a thorough assessment of the University's Infrastructure, Facilities, and Academic resources. The team examined the classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and other essential amenities necessary for successful implementation of the IJMB program. Prof. Oyewale, the lead representative from IJMB Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, expressed his satisfaction with the preliminary visit, stating, "We are impressed by the commitment and enthusiasm exhibited at Thomas Adewumi University in establishing an IJMB study Centre. This University has demonstrated a strong foundation, capable of providing students with an exceptional educational experience."

The University administration, led by Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, ably represented by the University Registrar, Mr. Usman Yakubu expressed gratitude for the IJMB's consideration and reaffirmed their dedication to providing top-notch education to the students and hoped to get positive feedback from the team. Following the completion of the preliminary visit, the IJMB team leader, Prof. Oyewole commended the Founder of Thomas Adewumi University for the beautiful structure and the resources laid out for the IJMB program.  He commended the Coordinator and brought out his observation and advised the management on ways to carry out a successful program.

This preliminary visit marks the beginning of a promising partnership between the IJMB and Thomas Adewumi University set to empower students and contribute to the overall advancement of Higher Education in the country.
