TAU Mass Communication students’: Inter- tertiary institution advertising Pitch-A-Ton program.

The 200 and 300 level Mass Communication students of Thomas Adewumi University attends advertising Pitch-A-Ton program at University of Ilorin. The competition was attended by the host school, University of Ilorin and other tertiary institution; Ajayi Crowther University, Redeemer’s University, Summit University, and Kwara Polytechnic.

The founder of Oxygen (02) Academy, Mr.Ozoemena Mnanefo, the founder of Trends pack packaging company, Architect Oladotun and the director of Registration and Professional development, Mr. Joe-Eugene Onuorah were all in attendances and addressed the students on personal branding and advertisement.

The students learnt from schools that participated in the competition; Kwara State polytechnic students mentioned how they researched the best color to use for the pitch and they came up with brown color to advertise on newspaper because it represents reliability and it gives the audience a sense of reliability of the packaging company. 

Awards were presented to the winners of the competition; Summit University in the 3rd position, University of Ilorin,2nd and Kwara State Polythenic,1st position respectively. The Head of Department of Communication (Mrs. K.K) gave an award of recognition to the founder of Trends pack company, founder of oxygen academy, director of registration and professional development ARCON as well as the executive director client service SOSU (The guest speakers)

After the presentation of awards, TAU students visited University of Ilorin, Faculty of Information and Communication Sciences where they met some lecturers who warmly welcome them. They also visited the University Radio Studio and was briefed about what happens in the studio. The journey back to school was pleasant and exciting as the Mass communication students gets to bond outside the classroom.
