Thomas Adewumi University, on Tuesday 11th of October, commenced its Orientation programs for the new intakes. The event will end by Friday, 14th of October. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, while delivering her welcome speech on the first day of the event, disclosed that the university operates an open-door policy where the students can visit her office (Office of the VC) and any of the staff’s office. She urged the freshers to “boldly ask questions” for anything they do not understand, promising them that their queries shall be issued with comprehensive answers.

The Vice-chancellor while interacting with the new intakes, welcome the students to Thomas Adewumi University, stressing that being a student of TAU is a privilege. Prof Francisca expressed that the university has made significant arrangements to ensure that the students enjoy learning. ‘This is a place to be… it is going to be an exciting experience for you’. She added as she declared the event opened.

The orientation program which was facilitated and anchored by the Dean of Student Care Services, is intended to enable new students to settle down and adjust to the university’s academic, social and cultural environments.

The Dean of the Faculty of Management and Social Science, Dr. James Ishola, while delivering a lecture tagged: ‘Making a success of your stay in TAU’, emphasized that it is a great opportunity for the students to gain admission into the university, citing that the university is ranked no. 1 among the new private universities licensed to start operations in 2021. Dr. Ishola promised that the university will groom the students in learning and character. He urged the students to take care of their environment and embrace diversity.

The Dean of Student Care Services, Dr. Oduwaiye, also educated the students on how to be better residents of the school hostels. He advised them to adhere to the rules and regulations guiding the hall residency. A question and answer session preceded his lecture.
