In a significant step toward strengthening academic governance and institutional growth, Thomas Adewumi University has officially inaugurated the reconstituted Committee of Provost, Deans and Directors. The inauguration ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the University Senate Chamber, marked a renewed phase in the University’s commitment to strategic planning, effective administration, and quality assurance in line with its expanding academic landscape.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca O. Oladipo, explained that the committee was first constituted in 2021 but required reconstitution due to the University’s rapid expansion and growing academic responsibilities. She described the committee as a “very powerful and strategic advisory body,” noting that it serves as a key management structure supporting the Senate Business Committee and plays a central role in virtually all aspects of university administration.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the committee is mandated to act in an advisory capacity to the Vice-Chancellor on matters of policy and administration; coordinate strategic planning and development goals across colleges, faculties, and directorates in alignment with the University’s vision; promote and monitor the quality of research, innovation, and community service initiatives; review and harmonize reports from Faculty and College Boards to ensure compliance with university-wide regulations; advise on the maintenance and expansion of academic infrastructure and learning resources; and carry out any other functions as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor or the University Senate.

Olatunji, Acting Dean, Faculty of Computing and Applied Sciences; Dr. Modupe E. Aina, Acting Dean, Faculty of Nursing Sciences; Engr. Olarewaju T. Ilesanmi, Director of Physical Planning; Dr. Eniafe F. Ayetiran, Acting Director, Research, Innovations and Product Development; Dr. James A. Ishola, Acting Director, Preliminary Studies; Dr. Abiodun A. Ajibola, Acting Director, Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance and School of Advanced Studies; Dr. Samuel T. Farohunbi, Acting Director, Career Centre; Dr. Charles A. Jimoh, Acting Director, Entrepreneurship Centre; Mr. Damilare S. Oladipo, Acting Director, ICT; and Mr. Adeyanju Y. Yusuf, Senior Assistant Registrar, Academic Affairs, who serves as Secretary of the Committee.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Chairman and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, as well as Acting Director of the Centre for Distance and e-Learning, Dr. Abiodun A. Owolabi, expressed appreciation to the University leadership for the confidence reposed in them. He assured the management of the committee’s commitment to diligence, collaboration, and effective service delivery in advancing the University’s mission.
With the formal inauguration of the reconstituted Committee of Provost, Deans and Directors, Thomas Adewumi University reinforces its resolve to deepen institutional efficiency, enhance academic excellence, and position itself for sustained growth and innovation.
